Dear Self,

As the Christmas season approaches, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle of buying gifts, attending events, and meeting expectations. But amidst all the excitement, it’s crucial to remember you and the importance of self-care.  Taking time for self-care isn’t selfish; it’s a way to recharge and truly enjoy this time without feeling overwhelmed.

Here is a reminder of how you could practice self-care this Christmas; set aside moments for relaxation—whether that’s reading a book, taking a long bath, or simply enjoying a cup of hot drink in peace. Prioritise sleep, you know how grumpy you can get on less than 7 hours.  Stay active to release holiday stress, and nourish your body with healthy meals (alongside the treats, of course!). Set boundaries and remember you don’t need to feel pressured to attend every event; it’s okay to say no sometimes.  And when you're really feeling the pressure and you're up against it, try simply sitting and reflecting on what you’re grateful for whilst enjoying a few deep breaths, it can be really helpful in moments of chaos.

Remember, when you take care of yourself, you’re better able to enjoy the magic of the season, in turn take care of others and share that joy with those around you.
